In July, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality found high levels of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) polluting the city of Parchment’s municipal and residential wells.
High PFAS levels found on a landfill once used by paper mills indicate a likely source, but a study of groundwater in the city of Parchment, Cooper Township and Kalamazoo Township should definitively determine where contaminants came from and where they spread. Read more here.
